Anyone ever seen a fruit tree that has mangosteen-like flowers

growing out of the trunk of a tree like a jackfruit?

I don't know what ripe ones look like, but the unripe fruit is brown with kind of rough melon-ish skin. I'm not sure how big they get but last time I saw them they were between the size of a softball and a basketball.
