I think about the effort that goes into getting a mango tree to that level of maturity and production. First, you research and select your variety. Buy the 3 gallon tree. Plant it, stake it, fertilize it, mulch it. Lovingly protect the trunk from string trimmer attacks. Fend off powdery mildew and pests. Keep adding compost and mulch. Tip the branches. Clip the early fruit for better harvest later on. Get an irrigation well and run bubbler lines to the trees. Gypsum, chelated iron, and proper pruning. Then you let the flowers turn to fruit and grow to full size as you wait patiently to harvest. Years invested, hours and hours of effort, loads of money spent.
Then some clown pulls up with a Publix bag and rips the fruit off the tree, almost always way too early to even taste it properly. Bastards.
