Zill 23-2 mango
« on: November 12, 2021, 11:55:33 AM »
Didn't find any info about Zill 23-2 aside from the web of Tropical Acres Farms but being a possible sibling of M4 and CC and a late season variety I'd like to know if there is more data already.

Anyone grows or has any experience about this cv regarding taste, season, etc?

Thanks

Hi

These are my notes a few months ago when I had 2 of this variety:
"Zill 23-2 Good floral flavor on the skin, juicy, very sweet, eatable skin, mono seed, spice level similar to Fruit punch, Rosa, and Super Alphonso."

It must be late season here in south Florida because I had them back  in August.

Thanks, JP. Yes, according to TAF is a very late season cv.

Haven’t been impressed with it yet and it’s prone to rot.

Is it later than the normal Keitt, Beverly or Neelam?

I was thinking about another later season mango and this was on the list.
I guess its this or delores

Thanks for the update, Alex. Too bad it doesn't share the quality of its 2 supposed siblings, combined with its extra late ripening season would have done a great combination.
