I cut the fruit and tasted it. It tastes like a not overly sweet mango, with a hint of sourness.

Today I plucked the first fruit. Not fully ripe yet. I have kept it on the table to soften.

Julian, from your description of the fruit, it appears to be Flacourtia montana. I have an airlayer, which has not fruited, but I have eaten the fruits from the parent, which are very sweet.

I recently happened to taste the fruits of this Garcinia. Even though this Garcinia has been merged with G.celebica, I found the fruit to be quite sweet, with a hint of sourness.

These are the first fruits on my Russel's Garcinia. I got the scions from 'Steve' in Aus. and grafted them on G.xanthocymus root stocks. One male and one female plants flowered this year and I hand pollinated the female flowers with the male ones.

These are the male flowers on a plant grown from seeds, I received as G.malaccensis. Once the leaves matured on the plant, I
was sure that this was not G.malaccensis. I bought the seeds from a seller on this forum.
If anyone has seen flowers like this on a Garcinia, please be kind enough to let me know.

On fruit turned yellow, and I plucked it, not taking any chances with the Macaques. I waited for it to turn soft and then I cut it with a knife. The skin is so thin and tough, that one needs a very sharp knife! And surprise! It is one of the best fruits I have eaten!!! Tastes like a good, ripe Mango!

Long time ago I bought seeds from 'Trade Wind Fruits' called as Garcinia madruno. Only when the plants fruited, did I find out that they were G.intermedia!

Yesterday discovered two fruits on my Luc's mangosteen. I had planted this in the ground about 8 or 9 years ago, when it was about 4 ft tall.

Did he ever specify what species he thought it was? Bacupari is a name given to multiple different species in the genus, including g. intermedia. The fruit looks like lemon drop to me
Raul called G.brasiliensis.

This fruit is on a plant from seeds I received from Raul, as 'Bacupari'. The fruit is same size/slightly smaller than the fruits on my Garcinia intermedia. Sweetness is same as lemondrop. But the leaves are different/bigger. Is it really a different Garcinia?

Thank you. Since I found it growing on rocks, it must be Rhaphidophora pertusa.
