Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: For Sale: Annona spinescens seeds
« on: November 03, 2023, 06:56:56 PM »
The two fruits I ate were of a moderately sweet pumpkin flavor. I didn't let the fruits hang until they fell, due to squirrel concerns, so sweetness was likely impacted. The skin is edible, as well.  Better than senzu beans.  :)

Hi, everyone.

Time to make some room and get some cool plants to new homes.  Not interested in shipping at this time - please don't ask right now.  Pickup in the Boca Raton/Coral Springs area.  Send a PM if interested in anything and I'll happily text over photos/info./plant origin, etc.

1 gallon (ready for potting up) Campomanesia lineatifolia  (Perfume guava/chamba) - tentative, but most likely ID. Thirsty plant - Amazonian and can likely handle wetter areas.  Can send photos of the fruit. 2 available @ $30/each

1 gallon Mimusops caffra - rare African member of the Sapotaceae.  Makes a nice hedge/bush, with numerous, small "sapote-ish" tasting fruits (almost like tiny mameys) fruits.  1 left @ $25.

plugs of Meiogyne cylindrocarpa - fingersop.  Slow-growing Australian annona with very tasty, orange-colored flesh.  5 available at $15. each.

plugs of Eugenia calycina (unnamed - not Nelita). 2 left @ $15 each.

5 gallon (ready for potting up) CORG (Eugenia involucrata) - has flowered once, but no fruits yet. One available @ $75   Sold.

2 gallon (ready for potting up) olosapo (Couepia polyandra)  - a little rough after winter, but new growth is coming on strong.  Mother tree had amazing fruit that butterscotch rum taste ... awesome fruit!  1 left @ $35. Sold.

1 gallon  Pouteria alnifolia - another rare African Sapote.  This one gets big, and produces large amounts of tiny fruits.  The fruits have little, pulp, but what's there is sweet, juicy and tasty. 1 available @ $25 Sold.

2 quart Jaboticaba azeda (Plinia oblongata) - large fruited jabo that's said to have good acidity.  Nice new growth coming in now.  1 left @ $30. Sold.

small Cambuca (Plinia edulis) - about to push new growth.  Hawaiian seed.  1 available @$25 Sale pending.

Bumping this one in case anyone wants to take a stab at the ID.  These were at the Fruit & Spice Park.

Have 15 10 fresh, germinated seeds of T. grandiflorum available.  Just starting to show the root.  I'm germinating them in water and will ship wrapped in wet paper towels inside of plastic baggies.

Great pulp for drinks ... like an aromatic a mix of cantaloupe and banana Hi-Chew candies.

5 seeds (including USPS Priority shipping) for $22.  PayPal F&F, US shipping only.

Thanks for looking!

Hi, everyone.

Time to clean up the garden, as it's getting to be a bit much (you know the feeling).  Located in West Boca. Wife is leery of having anyone over to the house, so can meet somewhere on 441 near the Palm Beach/Broward line.  Might have more to add, but here's the first batch ... Can text photos of plants - PM your number.  Sorry - no shipping for now.

1x 2 gal. Eugenia calycina, about 12" tall, growth is definitely picking up now.  $30.

2x 1 gal. seedling Annona "Saramoyo" in community pots (4 sprouted seedlings per pot), likely squamosa/reticulata hybrid ("caramel" type - seeds from JF) - 4 seedlings per pot $35

4x 1 gal. JUQUIRIOBA (Solanum alternopinatum) - very vigorous spiny vine. I had to cut them back to the base to keep them manageable, and they are already flushing plenty of new growth ... will give you enough time to set up a trellis for them.  Precocious, endangered Brazillian restinga species, supposed to make sweet passionfruit-like fruits. https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=4&nv=1&pto=aue&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=auto&sp=nmt4&tl=en&u=http://www.colecionandofrutas.com.br/solanumalternopi.htm&usg=ALkJrhjAE2mFp9DV96u4Qvo-4FExRm9IlQ  $15. each.

1x 5 gal. CORG (Cherry of the Rio Grande) - very vigorous, has flowered but not yet fruited.  $65.

3x 1 gal. seedling (year old, ~4 sets of leaves now) Garcinia sp. "Achachairu" Selecto - premier commercial variety (seeds from Raulglezruiz)  $20 each.

1x 2 gal. Soursop "Yucatan fiberless" - good branching already (seed grown, seeds from JF) - $35.

1x 5 gal. Pitomba - very vigorous growing, has fruited, suffering from a little sunburn from the current weather, but it's minor.  $65.

Feel free to PM any questions. Thanks for looking!
