Hi I am wondering if anyone has any experience with shipping large amounts of plants .

I do not have much experience with this, but I did try shipping a large item(s)
USPS before They wanted so much ,
the only company I know that does it cheap only ships in the Midwest.

I have been browsing online but I hope some people have experience here .

Also Buying a tree.

Some Nurseries do not sell online
I've had Companies do that stuff for me , USPS wanted a ton of money though to package stuff.

I forgot What I did find here is to contact  R&L Carriesrs and ask them freight prices.

I am looking into that maybe .

(I'd rather drive these things myself , but I might have a time line to do so.

It's surprisingly cheap to fly to Florida.  If you have some kind of airline frequent flyer program you get a couple free checked bags.  Those "checked bags" can be boxed fruit trees.  I've brought trees back from CA and FL this way, including from nurseries that don't ship.

If you find a cheap shipping solution I'd love to hear it, but my experience is that it is simply way more expensive than it is worth.  You can generally find mail order grafted trees of all types for $100 or less, and let them grow.  Or possibly bribe a forum member that lives nearby to pick up trees and mail them to you.

Or are you talking more like an entire truckload full?

You must of read my mind it is in Florida
I am planning to fly tomorrow , and drive back. (1 hundred to 150.)

While I do buy plants from Cliff England in KY I have always drove (my friend I travel with did)

I do have stuff in New Orleans so I Plan to get that out of storage  as well.

It isn't plants but guitars the company that picks stuff up they say
they want a hundred 50 to pack the guitars , and ship ,(and , or) 50 for packing .
still will be hundred or almost a thousand if I shipped doesn't seem right.
(I will see what the auction house quotes me to ship
, but I could really get my stuff out of storage as well in NOLA (new Orleans)

I wonder if anything is interesting in fort Myers
I see Pine Island Park (ding  Darling national park>)

I know it seems off topic , but I know a lot of people ship stuff here so hoped someone knew .

It seems like so much money

(when USPS wanted to ship a mixing board they wanted $ 300 just from St louis
and said they needed a certain box, and packing fee's
the company I called (in the mid west) it was only $30 for them to ship, and pack.

Hope this is Okay to post here (don't want to waste to much money.)

I am relieved I  called  the Shipping company to find out about my stuff.

I have a chance to ship or visit Florida
(1 hour south of sarasota  Punta gorda Florida )

I'd cost more to fly , and drive back,
(it's a 1000 miles through Florida to New Orleans storage unit to pick up stuff )
, and over a 1000 miles more home
(of coarse I have some places I want to stop after NOLA, but may not.)

I always wanted to see the ecosystems  , and plants down there.

Although My brothers friend that is here for a funeral Her
Husband  is 100 miles North of The area maybe I can pay him instead ,
and not worry about the whole thing.

Keep My eye out for shipping companies that are cheap for you, (hahah and myself)

I may have a free $200 empty guitar case (electric ) In  punta gordia

More to ship then it is worth. (around 100 to $150)
That is if I decide to ship my stuff.

Do not really want to spend $300 $400 bucks to ship, but may decide to.

Not sure if it is worth going down that way.

If the my Brothers Friend he Husband will pick it up

I may just wait

It is foraging season

Nice to find some Northern paw paws ,
but not sure how long they may be comfortable holding the stuff.

I do not know when Florida paw paws fruit , and find seeds.

,or spent time researching anything else. (PC kind of sucks taking it back)
but I know where Florida paw paws  are at
