This is a very hardy area more than mine... it's so incredible to have a musa colony self stablished in a portuguese river! I'm stoned! No one planted them! Of course they excaped some garden, some one trow them away and water river transport them to this location. This is really incredible... i have to talk with local authorities to protect them!

Wow! Never would have expected that. Maybe it’s that hardy musa that can take very cold temperatures? Don’t know if people grow that there though.

Yes, this is all so strange and exciting... and having them growing them over the rocks and not on the river bed it's amazing!

You should ask the property owner to let you get a sucker and try growing it out.

It would be great, but that's in the river. It's public and it's the municipality that is responsible for the river use... and i can't go there, just swimming or by boat.

Lol
Looks like a nice peaceful place. Find a time no one is around, carry a knife between your teeth like a Buccaneer and grab a pup to preserve the variety.

In forum bananas they say it's not a basjoo, probably is one orinoco... even so it's amazing how they survive there this years and stablished one comunity... i'm shure it's the only musa comunity stablished on a european river bed!
