Eugenia Rostrifolia -

Second photo is one of the seeds I sacrificed to see if they were viable. Fruits can be consumed raw, they have sweet pulp. Fruits contain a single large seeds. Fruits are 18mm in diameter. "A low germination rate can generally be expected" according to the useful Tripical plants website. Plant can get 15m in height. No known hazards. Plant favors rocky soil. Established plants are drought tolerant.

Eugenia Gemiflora -

This is a slow growing plant, but is known to produce early. I have sown these seeds before, and had very good germination.

Pouteria Butyrocarpa -

The tree can grow up to 10-20 m in height, and has a reddish trunk. When the trunk is bruised it smells like almonds. It is endemic in the "Hileia Baiana" region, and is only cultivated in botanical collections. Fruits have a pasty pulp, that are rich in oil with a very pleasant flavor. The fruit can contain 1-3 seeds. This species is related to mamey sapote, with which it shares some morphological characteristics. Propagation is only by seeds. This species is said to be endangered.
