will mangoes grow/produce... Melbourne Beach (beachside)

Very likely purchasing property on the beach in Melbourne Beach/Sebastian area. Worth it to plant a mango or two? If not, anyone know what will grow relatively well? This would right along A1A on the beachside.

Yes definitely. I’m a couple miles inland in Sebastian and have a couple producing mangoes.

I’ve seen mangoes literally right next to the ocean. Maybe 100 yards out from where the sand starts. Huge wild one probably turpentine at least 50+ years.

Am I wrong but havent some people fruited mamey up there in Melbourne?

Im sure mango would work.

One of the cross streets just south of whiteys bait and tackle (river oaks?) has a house with several mango trees. I understood from the owner they fruit just fine but wildlife gets most of it.
