Currently water temp in the Keys and as far north as tampa bay have given readings of 90’. The seasonal average high temp is 87’ for the keys.

Cutting the tree in half now would be a great idea, the energy in the sap would be diverted into pushing new branches while the initial shock would stimulate vigorous root growth.

I worry for Canada, the North Pole has been a barrier between them and communism…

I enjoy bananas stir fry in oil, butter n cinnamon, to me Orinoco and Blue java have the best texture for cooking. Out of hand raja puri, pisang ceylan and lakatan very sweet.

The J31 seedling I got from echo turn out to be great, its easy peel with banana n bubblegum flavor. The flesh is on the softer side but not overly  soft.

Yes the bulbs are hard to the touch, the tree was in container in native soil mixed from yard, the tree was pushing new growth and look to be overall in good health but it did not exhibit the vigorous growth other seedlings have shown.

I have tasted that increased irrigation during ripening reduces resinous flavor also.

23
Water ph is around 8 here restinga, grimal and Cambucas have been tolerant of it

24
Id add jakfruit to the underrated list, but understandably so. Some cultivars mediocre on flavor and others are a pain to process the fruit out, but then you come across a easy peel absolutely delicious jak and doors to fruit heaven open.

25
don’t think Maprang is underrated tho, the folks who have tryed it rate it highly…
