Just won this guy at the persimmon tasting at the south coast research station. Can't wait to dog in!

Nice fruit. If you're looking for a large fruiting variety, try Dr White. I had one over three pounds, not from my tree. My biggest dr white was 2-3 lbs. let us know how it tastes.

EJO8, did they say anything about the cherimoya event?
How many people attended? How many varieties?

The West LA CRFG made this their meeting but I'm not that big a fan of persimmons to go. Hope you had a great time!

As always I'm jealous of your collection Frank!

Fyliu: the said that the event was still a go as of now so hopefully it stays that way. There was a good amount of people, probably around 40 or so around 10:30 when I arrived and there were more trickling in. I didn't stay long, just tasted the 14 or so varieties and left. Persimmons, especially the crunchy ones which they were sampling all tend to taste the same but I'm glad I went

Was it a door prize or a raffle?  Lucky you!  (Don't let the "dog" have any!)  Persimmons are awesome, too.
