Has anyone had issues with fruit fly worms in their carambola? I found some worms in starfruit that dropped to the ground. I'm wondering if it's from carribean fruit fly. It seems like everything I grow gets worms:(
I've heard you can use spinosad to get rid of carribean fruit fly Can anyone explain how it's used? Do you spray it on the tree? On the fruit? Or is it for a trap
Just harvested my grumichamas today and they all had worms. Does anyone know what fruit fly stings them? Is there any bait trap that works on that type of fruit fly?
I'm assuming it's the same one that's stinging my loquats and guavas
Has anyone caught a fruit fly stinging their mangoes??? I didn't think they stung mangoes in florida. I just smashed this one. Managed to get a picture first. What kind of fruit fly is this?
I'm hoping to find someone on here to sell me a bunch of thai dwarf cuttings. If anyone is willing to sell me like 50 cuttings for a decent price feel free to PM me! Thanks
I know we have a lot of members here in FL. I'm just curious what your absolute favorite fruit tree is in your yard and why. Maybe after talking about it.. it will help others know about it/make them want to plant one.
For me I think it's my seedling Rollinia tree. It gives me tons of fruit and they are my favorite thing to eat from the yard. A close second is sweet tart mango. I have lots of other fruit trees that haven't fruited yet so the list might change in the years to come!
So I purched a few rooted cuttings of Pakistan mulberry about a year ago. They haven't done any growing yet. Some of them have dropped about half their leaves.
I thought these trees would grow like weeds at my house. Are the Pakistan mulberries prone to nematodes or something?
My friend planted a seed from the fruit and spice park in homestead FL. He has been growing this for a bit and has no idea what it is. Can anyone tell from the leafs what it might be? We are so curious
I was hoping I could get some words of advice for growing this tree in FL. Ive had good success growing many fruit trees in FL.. but I've managed to kill all of the abius I've planted so far. 3 in total. They seem to take a hit when the weather is cold.. then slowly die the following months. I love this fruit and would like some advice. I don't want to give up.
I'm just curious of people's experiences growing it in FL. I've had two so far both die. One from a flood. The other was a young one that died in the cold this year.
I'm just curious of other people's growing experience. Does it grow well for you? Both of mine seemed to grow very slow when they were alive.
Has anyone had any luck with these? I've tried that pineapple variety from home depot several times and seems to die after a month. I'm hoping someone can reccomend a variety that does well here. Thanks!
Looking for guava mango scions. I cant find this tree anywhere for sale. So I'll try with my feeble grafting skills to graft one myself if anyone has scions available! Thanks!
So I don't really have any citrus in my yard besides finger lime because of citrus greening... but I really love the variegated pink lemon fruit. I'm probably going to plant a tree under a huge oak tree in my yard. Any words of advice to increase my odds of keeping it healthy?
I managed to get my hands on one recently. I cant find much info about it besides it's supposedly a decent variety. One of the forum members said it's not self fertile. Can anyone confirm this?
Has anyone tried growing this in florida? It looks pretty interesting Especially since it's a ground cover. Half of the websites say it grows up to zone 9.. and the other half say zone 10.
I'm in 10a. So I was just curious if anyone has had success with these in FL
Does anyone know if austrailian blood lime is resistant to citrus greening? Seeing as it's half finger lime genetics I would imagine so.. but they are a bit pricey and I'm curious if anyone knows the answer before I commit to buying one. Thanks
Anyone know what's going on with this tree? I have like 10 other annonas and all of them are super happy. I've had this guy in the ground for about 8 months. No new growth and leaves look junky.
I've tried chelated iron and fertilizing more. Nothing seems to help.
