I do the same thing, but instead of putting a hose around the trunk, i put an old license plate around the trunk and hold it in place with Bungee Cord..
the license plate gives more support on a larger area of the trunk and prevents it from tilting over

soursop is a medium to large tree.. mine is about 15 ft tall and about 10 feet wide.. the space that you have them in might be ok, but one tree will take the whole space and cover the whole wall in about 5 years time..
it i were you, i would try to relocate them to another area away from the house, the roots might damage the water pipes and/or the house's foundation

i wouldn't top it.. my Fuyu was dormant until a couple of days ago and now starting to grow new leaves

This year gave me first and only fruit. I am starting to believe that when a tree produces only one fruit, that fruit is big,and delicious. It happened with other fruit trees here. I am at South Florida that is not tropical.

i read that you need two trees for cross polination and that both trees cannot be of the same variety

I put a rubber band on top of the grafting tape, that has worked for me in the past

9
One tree for me :)

do the Yangmei need chill hours? can they be grown in S. Florida? are they self fertile or do they need two or more trees?

your mango tree might flower more due to the cold this year

Julie, those are probably Japanese beetles..
the only way that i was able to control them was spraying the lawn and stopping the cycle..
the beetles lay eggs in the ground, the eggs become grubs(which eat the roots of the lawn) and then they become beetles and eat your fruit trees leaves.. it never ends

after i started spraying the lawn, the problem seemed to get better

I didn't cut too much, just the top a bit and around the sides.. but it did bloom a lot after.

I did the same to my grumichama, at the same time, but it hasn't flowered yet

I recently pruned my CORG for size management, first time doing so, and it bloomed again.. lots of new growth and flowers!

just wondering if any of you do this to encourage flowering.. i will try to do this more often, maybe twice a year
