I'm guessing the only way to ID definitely is once it fruits? I bought one 2 years ago on ebay from another seller that hasn't yet fruited. The pricing now for giant Indian is ridiculous. You're welcome to cuttings if it is one!

   

That would be great! Thank you. I'm the meantime I'll just buy some of the local plants to fill things in. There are plenty of local Nurseries with good reputation for not rare plants.

Do you guys have any thoughts on how much humidity is too much? I'm about to try growing some and I'm thinking to get plastic containers to make greenhouses, but I also worry about making the humidity too high.

I'm looking for some options. I'm planning to try Candy, Anne yellow, and Bababerry. I'm also looking at salmon berry, olallieberry, thimbleberry, mysore, and boysenberry. I came across the below thread, but am not sure if I can get any of those wonderful sounding typical Australian varieties here.

What do you guys think are my best options for Houston?

Agree, there are so many good stone fruits.  I'm most looking forward to growing cherries, I haven't been able to grow them successfully in my home garden.  Are you growing any tart cherries?

yeah it rained for a few minutes and did some pretty good lightening and thunder.  I had all kind of tools outside that I quickly gathered up and put in the garage then the rain promptly stopped after everything was put away.   

will have to get it all back out today.

I only have the 3 cherries.  minnie royal, royal lee, royal crimson.

I am excited to tell you that the fruits and seeds finally came into my hands after a long journey from the jungles.

I agree with the collector who reported a flavor similar to a mixture between COTRG, pitanga and dragon fruit, I would add apple tones and sweet pumpkin as well, but I did not taste pitanga.
It's really juicy and refreshing even though it doesn't have a lot of pulp, and we still don't know if it ends up ripening black. The darker ones were sweeter and very pleasant to eat.

Definitely a Eugenia to rescue and preserve from extinction!

Which Eugenia that your have listed is this one?

Let me know if you have any Craven's craving available in future. The bidding is annoying and too stressful

If you can’t wait, buy Craven’s craving from Dan Foster. He is a trusted source. This seedling was found in San Diego county.  It a little bit more vigorous than BM and taste a little better. I know that taste is subjective but I heard it from different sources

I was told the same thing. It is definitely in demand and I've seen several reputable sellers selling that one.

Yeah, I was wondering about that. I thought I'd at least get a response about curranii.

On that note don't buy mamey from the grocery store. My daughter was playing with it and it split, so I decided to open it and found this. I wonder if the seed is at least good.
