Apparently they have a program targeting the Mediterranean Fruit Fly and are scattering traps around.  He asked to place a trap on my property, (Central Broward County), in an Orange Blossom Jasmine we have in front.  Sure, why not?  I recall the battle I had with the papaya fruit fly a few years back.  Anything for the cause.

Very common.  Usually they just hang the traps without knocking on doors or asking.

lol...all it takes is someone to send you some plant material from abroad, that's not authorized. 
I know it seems like a kind act to send some cuttings for free, but it can result in a visit from the USDA!

i had called and asked them about the psyllid and citrus greening disease
since i do have a few citrus, and i did see the psyllid on my- trees.
they came out and tested, and released 400 stingless wasps

took a few weeks, but the test was negative
im clean on greening
and now i have a predator against those damn pests.
pretty happy overall.
