Actually, most of us have never tried a battery-powered backpack sprayer!   And the catalog descriptions have sounded very heavy and non-potent.

But maybe, with all the new more compact batteries....

For backpack 4 gallon sprayers just get one that has a hand pump.

If you need to spray more than 4 gallons, you can get 10 or 15 gallon battery pump sprayers that can be put in a quad or truck and driven around.

There are reviews for these sprayers out there if you Google them. I use a Greenwood 4 gallon hand sprayer from Harbor Freight - about $30 which is $10 less than Amazon. It works very well for me although I get my spraying done with just one fill.

4 gallons of water weighs about 32 pounds. The battery sprayers weigh about 60 lbs when full. If you need a heavy duty sprayer maybe think about something bigger as spaugh suggests.

All depends on what you are spraying, if trees back pack are not very useful. If your back is strong enough to carry the battery, why dont you spent more and get a motorized low volume sprayer. You will save in chemicals over time to pay for it. Like Solo 451 or similar. Better reach and good coverage. I have sprayed 20 large avocado trees with one load.
