Florida coconut belt

does any one have a map of the coconut belt for Florida i live in vero beach so i know im at the end of the coconut belt.

After driving up and down FL for like forever I think I have a pretty good knowledge of where they start and stop...
I've seen a few stragglers in Tampa in microclimates ex near the ocean or by a building. Also seen some cape canaveral. But in general they are harder to find the more inland you go and become more populous the farther south and to the coast you are.
I remember reading up on the palm forums. It's a pretty fun read. Heck there are even a couple in Orlando barely surviving (and fruiting) by exploiting the microclimate of the city.
But if you want to grow them without worry I'd say a couple hours south of Orlando towards the coast and an hour south of Tampa to be really safe.

sarasota has quite a few near the water, i've seen them in tampa. fort pierce has quite a few, and thats near vero/.

That’s where I’m at. We have tons around here, tho obviously not as many as places on the coast further south.  They do fine here tho. 

I would agree with Jaboticaba’s assessment, that essentially sums it up.

Daytona may have the most northern Coconut but its not a straight line to the most norther west coast coconut. Its a really thin band along the coast pretty far south before its warm enough to cross over the state. I know someone locally here in East Orange county up the road from me with two. But he has his up close to the south side of his house surrounded by very thick bushy trees and he still puts several heat lamps under them in the coldest of weather. Even after ten+ years he has not gotten any coconuts despite them capable of surviving with help.

Definitely farther north than coconuts.
I've seen them planted in groups near Orlando. But again, more common when farther south.
They are super beautiful. Anyone here have the variegated one?
