Baby-friendly Mango fruits.
« on: June 21, 2021, 06:05:19 PM »
I’ve got a 15 month old baby boy, he’s the light of my life. I’m obsessed with him, And mangoes, so naturally I wanted him to like mangos. His first mango try was Haden because it was most convenient in my neighbors yard, but it’s got just enough fiber to be hazardous and he would choke. I stopped immediately and continued my a search.

So far I found “Glenn” is perfect. A very ripe Glenn is like a mango jello and he loves it. It melts in his little Mouth and even big chunks melt away safely and enjoyably.

He also loves ripe “Irwin” and it seems safe.

“Kathy” and “Karen Michelle” he loves and they were safe too.

“Lemon Zest” was his definite favorite and nice and soft and melting for his 8-tooth mouth too.

Just figured If there are any new dads or moms on here this might be Helpful.

Please add any mango cultivars that are soft, sweet and completely fiberless for rugrats.

My little guy loved the Ataulfo or honey mangos. Very sweet and no fibers.

Not one you like, I think, but for others...Angie is fiberless.  Also, PPK.

I have three kids under 6 and they love mangoes, Nam doc mai, glenn, Mahachanok, O2, , basically anything with no fiber and sweet they will gobble it down.
Don’t rush, take time and enjoy life and food.

My 5 year old loves Glenn and Carrie mangoes. Glenn is the perfect mango for children. She also loves lychee. I grow strawberries during the winter for her as well.

My kids don't seem to have issues with eating mangos even with a little fiber but they are 3 and 6.  When they were really little we just mashed the food up or ran it through a food processor blender.  You can also blend up fruit and make popsicles out of it, they like that.

Let him try an Orange Sherbet and you'll have a mango fan for life!
