LF SUMO orange or or other sweet citrus scions
« on: March 12, 2022, 04:14:28 PM »
I wouldn’t mind growing a sumo from seed or any other super sweet citrus that had the capability to make fruit similar to its parent if I could find viable seeds But it’s best I just get scions right? I have Big citrus tree that makes the worst tasting soapy fruit ever, no idea what it is but I want something that taste good. Please. Someone help me out here
Feel free to pm me if you have any ANNONACEAE for sale‼️

Filozophr,

In California, we’re restricted from sharing scion and moving citrus trees outside our quarantine zone due to citrus greening disease.  You can order budwood from CCPP, but they have increased their prices this year.

It is possible to grow from seeds.

Or you can buy a plant.

Good luck!

I will keep an eye out for mandarin seeds for you and message you if I find any.  Mine are usually seedless but I get an occasional seed.  Most mandarin seeds can grow true to the parent.

I got mine from Harris Citrus, which is in FL, a couple years ago.  You could call them and ask if they will have any in stock again soon, they were out last time I checked.  They have a website harriscitrus.com.

it is listed as Shiranui, which is (in theory) the same thing as Sumo/Dekopan
