Free 25 gallon breadfruit local pickup in Tennessee!
« on: May 16, 2022, 04:14:11 PM »
I got a 25 gallon breadfruit that needs to go. It’s free, but I keep the pot!
I doubt there is anyone who is near me. But I figure it’s better to give away than to cull.

I'd buy an airlayer

Was going to suggest maybe there is a local botanical garden with a greenhouse you could donate to?

Well when i first saw that I thought you meant the fruit, not the pot ( Jackfruit sized breadfruit ).

Another good idea. Unfortunately there are none around here. I'd rather give it to someone here anyway.

This technique seems to work pretty well-

Hah, I am in this same position often.  Rare (for this area) plant nobody else has... no local market to sell it to, too big to ship, don't want to give it away because the container and the soil is worth something to me.  End up saving the soil and trashing the plant.

I guess I could offer them to Longwood Gardens but I'm sure they have enough resources if they actually wanted these types they could easily obtain them.  They don't seem interested in fruit trees, the only ones I see in their greenhouse are cattley guava and oroblanco grapefruit.
