Acai not fruiting
« on: June 01, 2022, 05:07:16 AM »
Hi planted a bunch of Acai a few years back, gardener killed most of them woth weedwhacker.

One is alive and lots of sucklings too, and just excited to be back on farm and see it is flowering.

However not even a single fruit.

Can anybody help to see if this Acai is self pollinating or have any advice?

You say is has been flowering but I don’t see a photo of any flowers.
It should be self fertile.

thanks, maybe that is the problem?

I just got back to farm and only seeing these dried inflorescense.

I see a new one about to open so I can see if any flowers.

Will it skip flowering in first year of producing inflorescense?

It should set fruit with the inflorescence. Keep a good eye on it. If you are not around the fruits will simply drop off. For us it often germinates under the trees..
