I have heard before that some varieties are better for starting from cutting while others are difficult to root and are better to use in grafting, do you know if Tice is like that?

Not sure about Tice, I have not tried to root it. I know all of these above can be grafted so it would be best to graft them.

Hey Kaz...
Can you identify this particular Mulberry.
I bought it from Ison's Nursery in Georgia and they call it Pakistan Mulberry:

Red or Black?
They look Red to me...

Thanks Kaz!

Kevin,

Yes, it looks to me like a Black Pakistan. The fruits turns color from green to red, but it is not really ripe yet, when it is fully ripe it will turn dark red/almost black. .

Here's some photos when the fruits are still red, and dark red. The ones on the tree is when the fruit is fully ripe, it turns black.

Kaz always has quality scions. The ones I grafted a few weeks ago are already pushing.
I’d say grafting mulberry is intermediate difficulty. The one reason why is the plant pith in the branch can easily fall off when cutting scions. Other than that, it’s fine.

Good to hear the scions are arriving in good condition. Mulberry cuttings keep much better than white sapote cuttings for shipping. I will need to remember if I ever sell white sapote cuttings again to wrap them in parafilm, not use moist paper towel since they like to mold.
