Guava identification
« on: June 04, 2022, 11:31:32 AM »
I bought this early last year as a 3" cattley lemon guava seedling. The fruits do turn yellow and are pretty sweet, but I do not taste lemon. Also, all lemon guavas I see online are trees, but this grows more like a bush.  Is this a lemon guava? Thanks, Alex

Definetely lemon guava. There are 2 types of this: tree and bush, but they both have the same fruit. You can trim the lower branches regularly and stack the main trunk, as it gets older it will look more like a tree then.

Thank you for confirming guys!!!! Guess I learned that it can be a tree or bush! All pictures of fruit and plant are from the same plant. Fruit are delicious and this thing fruits like crazy! Maybe I have to pick it a little earlier to get that lemon taste. Very sweet though 👍
