Black Madeira should be easy to find. Please make sure that you don’t buy from untrusted source on eBay. Figbid is the way to go. If you can wait, I can send you a few cutting for postage

Thank you. Yes, around this time it seems harder to find then when they are dormant. Yeah, I don't trust ebay or Etsy for these plants.

If you can’t wait, buy Craven’s craving from Dan Foster. He is a trusted source. This seedling was found in San Diego county.  It a little bit more vigorous than BM and taste a little better. I know that taste is subjective but I heard it from different sources

I was told the same thing. It is definitely in demand and I've seen several reputable sellers selling that one.

I'm not in a rush. This is going to be an espellier tree, so I wanted something less vigorous, and the BM seems to fit the description. Point loma is a few miles from me and I get whispers of where that seedling was growing.

Can I hop onto that too once you have cuttings available?

Figs grow like gangbusters here and I'd love to have that variety.

Just so happened to run across this.

https://profigusa.com/product/black-madeira-fmv-free-plant/

I'm going to buy two trees because it seems interesting. I have a small Craven Cravings and Colonnel Littman's Black Cross but an FMV Free Tissue Culture Black Madeira wouldn't hurt.

Let me know if you have any Craven's craving available in future. The bidding is annoying and too stressful

I've got you, just send me a reminder in the future. Ill probably just want to trade this winter. I'd rather trade here than on ourfig. I also have Joualle Noir which I think is also a Black Madeira type

Those don't even look like Black Madeira type of leaves. Leaves are usually more rounded and full.

From what I have noticeed is that fig trees don't have a consistent leaf type until they grow larger. I think this seller is trustworthy and it was designed in a lab. But we can revisit this next year and see!

They are a legitimate nursery with over a 1000 positive reviews on figbid.

Btw, HAMMER, you should get a couple for free. Over 20 have been sold since you posted the link.

Simply sharing a good seller. Additionally I really enjoy their fig jam. Top notch. As for cuttings I'll settle for some brown turkey /s

I got a couple of those BM trees from profigusa. Thanks for that link!

Also, by total coincidence, I found out that the person who runs the site is a personal friend of a local gardening friend of mine that's a total fig fiend.
