Trading: Figs for …?
« on: September 09, 2022, 11:26:06 AM »
Hi! I have some fig trees I intend to auction but I’d also be open to trades within the continental U.S. Below is a list of some trees I have available. I could be interested in tasty Longans, Annonas, Pouterias, Duguetias, Sapotes, Mangos, Jabos, geez, maybe anything delicious and possibly hardy enough after a few years growth to a zone 9b that might push 10.

Some of these are more rare and sought after than others and more or less advanced in current growth. If you’re interested in a particular fig and have something to trade, feel free to inquire, I have many more varieties and could potentially propagate something down the line. Thanks!

Figo Preto
Violette de Sollies
Bourjasotte Grise
Galicia Negra
Unk Col de Dame (Noir or Grise)
Coll de Dama de Ciutat
Paratjal Rimada
Capoll Curt Negra
De la Plata Campanera
Paratjalina
Figue d’Algerie
Causses de Vers
Pichoto

Likely Smyrna - probably requires pollination to fruit
Shenshare
Vasilika Melissi

California seedlings that supposedly don’t require pollination to fruit
Meteorito
Feather River
Thermalito
Raspberry Tart

California seedlings that are not yet known whether they require pollination to fruit
Raspberry Cream
WXC-019

Figs are so delicious. They photograph well also. What is the name of the fig in your last bottom photo?

I agree, beautiful and delicious. That one is Capoll Curt Negra. Great fig from the Montserrat Pons collection on Mallorca. It’s becoming a new family favorite. Here are a couple more of that one…

I think I have a different favorite every year. I-258 is awesome and I’d be surprised if anyone hates it with a passion, but I get it, I’m a bit idiosyncratic here and there. I do grow it but would need time to propagate a tree. I’ll send you a PM today! Thanks man!

I-258

looking good Aaronn.  We have been adding more and more fruit trees also and kind of stop adding any fig trees for over a year now.  Annonas and sapotes are becoming our new passion

Thanks StelaG! I’ve been starting seeds and letting the winter show me what’s possible in my yard. So far, I’m very optimistic  :)
