My Geffner is in ground 12 years and STILL often drops immature fruit. If lucky I get a half dozen fruit a year. I wouldn't plant it again.

Yes mamoncillo or guinepas/guineps. Where were you at in Palm Beach? I'd like to go by there and buy some

Yesterday I was up in Palm Beach County and a street seller was selling bags of this little green fruit that she called "Hermacito" They bear a striking resemblance to Lemon Drop Mangosteen in several ways except obviously its green versus yellow color.

Size, the same thick outer shell as LDM, fruit meat held tightly onto the large seed (thought the meat is stringy) and is "challenging" to eat but it's tart and sweet. It's flavor has citrus overtones also.

Does anyone have info on this one?   Google was of no help despite trying several spelling variations.  PS, I've saved seeds since I KNOW if this is in any  way interesting I'll get requests for them :-)

I need a dozen or so scions. Anyone locally have them? Sell / trade it's all good.

I have a "ruby supreme" guava from a big box store in ground a couple of months and it's happy and growing like a weed at over 7' tall from a 5' twig.

My q is about the tag on it which says 4-2022. Is that tbe date they potted it for sale or the date it was put out in tbe field or something else?

Hmm, last time I refrigerated one it killed the flavor and texture...maybe this was your problem?

Good point, I wonder if it was the refrigeration that can influence it? I mean unless I cut the fruit and ate half before refrigerating it I'd not know. This season I'll eat some and not refrigerate them.




 

I pressure clean my roof every 15 months or so, and my trees feel no ill effect from it. If your guy is using one of those rotary floor cleaner types and you have a tile roof I'd worry about the  guy breaking tiles.

I ate the majority of the two fruits and while I'd not consider it a "top tier" fruit to rival the best mango I found it more refreshing and complex than mango. I look forward to the next crop.

I hope so for me too! I planted the tree a few years ago and had not tasted the fruit. The picked fruit is 2lb. 5oz. and I have no idea if this is a typical size but the second one on the tree looks even larger :-)

My GF absolutely ADORES Annona and she's pumped about my bringing it there Saturday.

We got a couple of good soakings here and even though the swale was full last night, it was dry this morning... the  soil was thirsty.

What months do the fruit ripen in your yard?  I'm looking for something that is a winter bearing fruit.

My Kajang gave me fruit all winter through February.
