Kevin,

1. What's the difference between Nelita and Garnet seedlings?

2. Do you have a picture of the size difference of the large vs x-large Jabo's?

Thanks

They are 2 different strains.
The Mother Garnet plants have a golden pulp and the Nelitas have a red pulp.
In my opinion the Garnets are the best tasting. Sweet with a juicy plum-pineapple flavor and a plum texture.
I'll post some pictures for you soon...Thanks!

Are they both Eugenia Involucrata?

You might need to do a DNA test to know for sure. :)
They are definitely Eugenias... but the exact species is sort of a grey area for me.
I've been using the umbrella term Cherry of the Rio Grande.
Hopefully someone else can weigh-in with a more accurate explanation.

Do you think maybe E. Calycina??

Would not be surprised at all...
In fact... just to differentiate it from the others...we've been referring to it as Calycina for awhile.
A couple of years ago... Adam at Flying Fox ID'd it as Calycina from photos I sent him.

A 2015 study found that E. calycina and E. involucrata were part of the same highly variable species, with E. involucrata being the older and preferred naming. See this post for synopsis and link to study: https://tropicalfruitforum.com/index.php?topic=21094.0

I previously purchased Garnet scions from Kevin and they grafted beautifully onto a standard Cherry of the Rio, extremely high % take.

I given almost half of one of my greenhouses over to the original Mother Garnet and my larger Grafted Garnets.
The Mothers is pushing 12 ft and the others are rapidly catching up.
The greenhouse is 12ft at the peak so that is my height limit for now.
But they can easily be grown in a 5 gal pot and kept smaller.

Hey Kevin,
how many sabara do you have? Are you willing to work out a bulk deal? ;)

When you say bulk... how many plants do you need?
I have 50-60 stocky yearlings in 4-inch pots.
Packaging, Shipping costs and general logistics for a large quantity of delicate plants is the real challenge.
