Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Peluche loquat white flesh

JCorte, that Peluche looks White. Is it full ripe (edible stage)?
When it gets more ripe than shown in the picture, does it change color?

Also, that flesh to seed ratio looks good.

Cherimoya is the best. I've only tried one pawpaw from farmers market and it was good. I can see pawpaw taking 1st place once I have opportunity to try more flavors. Pawpaws have rich dense flavor and flesh is custard.

Because of my preferred custard texture for flesh, cherimoya beats atemoya (chewy) in texture but also flavor.

Is it for the color or is the quality of the fruit very good?

I added chicken, duck, and rabbit to my garden. Great addition for fertilizer and recycle of food waste.

It is an atemoya.  Most likely ap 2

Hopefully the ap2 i grafted taste better. 😁

Top clipped vs non clipped.

Big white non clipped growing new leafs.

Vista white no new leafs yet.

Both scions are still alive. I dont check graft success until it grows bigger. For top clipped scions, i have 1-2 leaf to get energy from the rootstock. I remove rootstock buds to prevent new branch.

-It can peel like a avocado.
-Taste is like a bland sugarcane, not much acid or complex flavor.
-flesh is chewy.

Elbumpo still best tasting annona.

Np. Roots are healthy, did not need to cut to fit packaging.

I moved away from using rubber bands and use garden tape. I para film everything, then use garden tape on the graft joint. Rubberbands dry out or melt together. Garden tape allows me to leave on longer. Also, the healed joint looks nicer as there is more evenly spaced pressure.

Came across a new asian grocery that just opened in Northern CA. Was wondering if anyone can help identify this annona. Sold as cherimoya but looks to me like an atemoya.

Its 2.3 lb, will update taste later.

@Pau that’s great. How long did they take?

Planted it in July 2024. First noticed growth in January. My mini green house has automated irrigation, so i just planted and never noticed until January. Have about 15 seedlings i just repotted and left it out of the green house.

I bought fresh yang mei and planted the seed without opening. They germinated without issue.

Better than the Valentine, looks like I scored. As of now the Valentine is the best I've tasted.

Ok, i see what you mean. The golden pomelo is a true pomelo whereas the one i just bought is a pomelo x mandarin, thus, it is not the same.

Pau, the label in your photo says it is 'Cocktail' cultivar, not the same type

Does that mean it has 2 grafts, pomelo and a mandarin, or does it mean there is one type of fruit that was cross breed between a pomelo and a mandarin?

Do you think this is that fruit? Check your local costco. I'm getting one.
