I will be planting a lot of my loquat seeds this year and will not let most of them grow until it fruits.

So, just curious if there is enough interest for me to graft some good loquat varieties on these future seedling plants for next year.
=======================================================
Sales to registered forum members for at least 6 months.
Not taking any advance orders, will not sell them until after the grafted plants are ready to ship.
=======================================================

Here's the list of loquat varieties I'm thinking of grafting onto the seedlings when they are old enough to graft.
  Added Estee on 7/22.

1. Big Jim (my variety, could be a seedling tree from the nursery, not sure- tastes excellent).
2. Vista White, large white flesh fruits, very good tasting
3. KT1-Kosmic, highest fruit production, very good tasting, flesh is white/yellow.
4. KT3-Sheri Lynn, white/yellow flesh, very good, medium to large fruits, one of my favorites
5. KT9-Lindsey, orange flesh, one of the best tasting of the orange flesh, larger fruits than Big Jim.
6. KT2-OCBC_Keiko, unreleased white flesh seedling. Very good to Excellent tasting, round fruit, much better than a Mogi or Argelino.
7. KT6-Lisa1, white flesh, highest brix (22-30).
8. KT23-Lenox, white/yellow flesh, excellent tasting fruit.
9. KT26-Michael1, white flesh, highest brix (21-29).
10. Peluche
11. Estee .

Kaz,

It's great that you are grafting your selections for sale.  I would be interested in KT9, KT6, and Estee.

Any ultra-late flowering/fruiting varieties? I'm talking like Spring flowering.

I found out today that there are still some scion woods available from the Estee tree that I can have to graft on the seedlings for this future 2024 spring sale. Let me know if anyone thinks it should also be one of the top5 of interest.

This is one of my top choices.

Yes, it's excellent, we'll see if anyone else want to see it as one of the top 5. It will cost the most as mentioned above.

Loquats are only now finishing ripening here in the PNW -- northernmost part of continental US.  Seattle area.
While they are super late here, they might be as tasty as anywhere else in the country or world.

My loquats are just now maturing into large trees (about 6 years old). And the flavor has been improving each year.

So far Shambala and Kanko have ripened here this season. Most other varieties dropped off their fruit -- maybe they are not tolerant of our occasional really cold weather. I'm still waiting for Golden Orb and Bullock #1 to ripen up.

Shambala is extremely good and tasty. First year for fruit. -- Brix between 18 and 22. Much sweeter than any plum, peach or nectarine I can buy locally. Sweeter than most cherries with extremely good flavor.
Kanko is a common variety and it started out the season with lower brix -- around 16. Now they are coming in at 22 or so. I'm just picking them ripe, not wrinkly or anything. With a sub-acid flavor. Extremely delicious loquat aroma.
At this stage, it maybe among the best fruit I've ever grown.

Ok, since there is not as many people interested in this grafted tree, I will probably just graft the top 3 from the list submitted here.

I will post the final 3 that I will be grafting now and next spring.

Kaz posting the description on the Estee loquat may help to increase the interest.  I don't remember the description, but recall you saying it was a top tasting variety in another post.  I would be interested in a few but would need scions not trees.  We are out of space and cannot add anymore trees.

Yup, when some people are fine at paying $2500 a month for an itsy bitsy studio apartment in NYC, us fruit enthusiasts would prefer to be out and about enjoying the pristine air of the great outdoor. A reasonable number of us are also looking for more land to feed our seemingly endless desire for fruit tree varieties...👍😁
