It was out of stock as of a few days ago, however if you go and do a little shopping over there anyways they have some that you can taste. Tastes amazing ripe and unripe. They may also have some bananas for you to taste.

How would you prep them? I don’t think grafting mulberry is done after they push, you want to graft them while dormant/ swelling buds.

While not ideal, you can trim the pushed buds and then toss them into your fridge for at least a few weeks to put them back into dormancy.

Never heard of anyone doing that with mulberry. Have you tried using scions after the buds pushed, then put into the refrig?

I have. Had one take out of about six.

But yeah, not ideal. I'm sure it lowers success rate.

I had luck grafting during the fall 2 years ago. Unfortunately with the new growth it was killed spring winter, but had success. Maybe it depends on the plant. I also wonder if you can trick it like mango (saw this in a video and want to try it) and trim off the leaves from the intended scion, then wait for the leftover stems to fall off and new buds to start forming to show nutrients and hormones are in that scion, then cut it off.

I was talking to the peeps at Cody's Cove about that while taste testing their mulberry and they said it doesn't root well, so you'll have a much higher chance of success grafting

Himalayan types tend to not be fans of rooting, which is a shame.

It can be done, but it's difficult with a low success rate.

If you can get them to root, they are prone to get nematodes. That is why you graft onto something like Tice

I have grafted them with great success in Summer and early Fall.

I'm getting more cuttings now so I hope this time they stay alive. I think I only have one graft that is alive from her Fall sale.

The DMOR9 is a beast, once the graft takes, it grows like a weed, and the branch gets nice and fat.

RE DMOR9, seems to vary with the rootstock.   Whatever Henks used for rootstock seemed to dwarf it for me.    It grows, as you said, like a beast, on 6th street and I'm sure other vigorous rootstocks.

Yes, I noticed the same thing. The DMOR9 plant I purchased from Hicks ($150) is still a little stick of a tree, didn't seem to grow more that 12 inches in 9 months. But the ones I got from Marta and grafted to my large trees are over 6 ft long since grafting it. I grafted a cutting of my grafted branch this January on the tree I'm trading with a forum member locally and that grafted branch grew over 4 feet in 5 months, I had to cut it back again.
