I have been told that the Florida version of the tea shot hole borer is boring some mango's in our area so there may be a possibility that its California close relative may be liking your mango. Check for signs of drilling small cavities etc. This ambrosia beetle carries a branch killing fussarium. Just one possible explanation. What do you recommend if that's the case?
I'm saying it's ok because it's sending out new branches from the trunkHello, my mango tree has bee having some branches with fruit dry up and I don't know what's causing this to happen the tree itself is ok but I don't know what's causing some branches to dry up and die
If branches are drying up and dying then I would not say the tree is ok
What rootstock is the mango tree onIt's not on a rootstock it was grown from seed
Hello everyone
I would like to share and know your results from your anona grafts. I grafted a total of 77, between March and April, scions before I left on vacation. 72 took so I was delighted with the results. I left 30 or so of the small grafted trees in full shade, a handful in full sun and about 20 on establish inground trees, when I return I found all grafts in full sun fried the rest survived. Here are pix of some of the surviving grafts
I still have 20 or so in shade.
How do you stored pollen for future use and how long will they last?
still waiting for an answer!Don't trust newbie sellers.
I know, and I'm very excited to see how it does when it full takes. My parents would tell me memories about how they loved this fruit, and I'm hoping to remind them of the taste when I get my first fruits. This is one is starting to push

Schutzhund, if your tree was planted from seed, it would just be a seedling variety. Even if the seedling came from a polyembryonic variety of mango, I would call it XXX seedling. For example, if it was a Nam Doc Mai seedling, I would call it as such. How can I tell if a seedling is polyembryonic or monoembryonic?
Simon
And the pictures are from last year.
Probably the easiest way to tell is to open up a seed from the fruit and see if it has multiple segments in it. If you post a picture of the embryo, we may be able to give you an educated guess.

Squam256 and Dongeorgio may still be selling scions. Sweet Tart is extremely sweet when grown in California and harvested ripe. Once you get the hang of when to harvest it, you can ripen it less for more acid balance or let it get fully ripe for much less acidity and much more sweetness.Sounds good I'm thinking about buying a Manila from Home Depot to use as rootstock. I have this mango tree that is about 12 years that my dad planted from seed, the seed came from our neighbor who went to El Grullo, Jalisco in Mexico, and the tree gives us very delicious and fiberless fruits the only problem is I don't know what variety it is
Those people that are sensitive to overly sweet fruit may want to avoid this variety along with LZ and several other Zill varieties that are ultra sweet. DOT is also an excellent variety.
Many Mango growers in SoCal have had success planting random mango seeds into the ground. These seedling trees are known to grow to huge proportions. When growing seedlings in the ground, do not graft them with mature scions until the seedling is fully established and in exponential growth phase.
When grafted(mature scion) mango trees are grown in SoCal, many of them will flower within one year and continue to flower every year from then on. This issue can be avoided by simply holding off on grafting with mature scion wood until the tree is fruiting size.

DavidI haven't said anything bad or disrespectful if you read through my replies, I just asked if Sweet Tart was productive and what does it look like. I'm also grateful for the helpful information that I have received regarding this topic. One more question how's the taste and where can I find scions for Sweet Tart and Angie?
I don't understand what answer you are looking for you gotta trust Simon and Behl....they know what they are talking about remember what happen with Adam.

Sweet Tart is definitely productive on Manilla rootstock.Do you have any pictures of how Sweet Tart?

One of your choice is Carrie I would opt for Angie and Sweet tart. PM Behl he might have them availableHaha I picked those choices because those are the ones I can find at the nursery. Are Angie and Sweet Tart high productive?
