10- satsuma mandarin
11- tarraco blood orange
12- morro blood orange
13-hybrid pomelo (Tony1)
14-18 rare ones

Here's some photos:....
..

Special Unk -Valentine like hybrid , Tony1

I started picking most of the fruits from this tree. These two fruits, Valentine and Tony #1 are the smaller size fruits, the larger ones I gave away to friends to eat.

When I picked these fruits, I thought the Tony #1 with the red flesh would taste better, but was surprised to find that the Valentine was the better tasting, it is very sweet and has some tartness so it's got a good mixture of flavor. The Tony #1 has no acidic taste and only taste sweet.

I also pick many of the Oroblanco fruits so I will add those photos here later.

Miracle.

It is even more  to know which fruit you are eating.

Thanks Millet, my other lemon tree has 50 varieties on it.

Eric it's my tree with the 50 varieties that is much more difficult to remember which fruit I just picked (e.g. kiyomi, ponkan, sumo, satsuma) since my branches are adjacent to each other.

elouicious, didn't mean to take away from your nice grafting job on your trees.

But your post got me to take some photos of my tree so you could see how a mature tree that is multi-grafted will look. It's unusual for me to have so many different varieties fruiting and ripe at the same time on one tree so I took some photos for my archive.

Very nice! I was going to add a couple more blood orange varieties to my tarocco/moro tree I grafted. Now I'm thinking why not just make it any orange variety.

What other orange would you recommend for more upright growth habit ( root stock is c-35 if that matters).

John, I couldn't give you a good answer to your question. Here's what I grow, but not all of them had fruits yet.
I like the Lane Late navel orange so far (orange in photos). The variety data shows the VI-798 is the best orange in Spain and they say it's the best in the world.

VI   Variety   Comment
352   LANE LATE NAVEL
362   MORO BLOOD ORANGE
384   TAROCCO #7 BLOOD ORANGE
430   FUKUMOTO NAVEL
442   VANIGLIA SANGUIGNO ACIDLESS SWEET ORANGE,   weeping branch
471   CARA CARA NAVEL
487   RHODE RED VALENCIA
521   WASHINGTON SANGUINE BLOOD ORANGE
576   BREAM TAROCCO BLOOD ORANGE
647   SMITH RED BLOOD ORANGE
719   BOUKHOBZA BLOOD ORANGE
749   PEHRSON #3 VALENCIA
750   PEHRSON #4 VALENCIA
798 MALTAISE DEMI SANGUINE BLOOD ORANGE, best sweet orange in spain & world ? (did not fruit yet)

=> updated info, had the wrong VI-referenced, the best sweet orange is VI-798.

Wow, that is so cool to see! Very healthy. I see you've tied individual fruits to branches, did you also tie some of the super loaded branches to something? That production is insane!

Thanks for the compliments, Janet, Ken, Kevin, elouicious, glad you like it.

Kevin, yes I had to tie the big fruits (valentine, pomelo) since they weigh 1-2 lbs each and there were too many fruits hanging on the small branches. I already picked 6 pomelo fruits before I took these photos.

No, I let the Late Lane oranges support their own weight (80 fruits) since they have more smaller branches for each of the fruit groups. I did have issues before when I let the oroblanco grapefruits hold 110 fruits on this tree (4yrs ago) and before the fruits turned yellow the entire branch (2") broke off with all the fruits one day.

Here's some fruits from one of my other multi-grafted tree, it's the Thong Dee pomelo. These are the largest fruits I grow so far, last year the fruits weighed 3-5 lbs, this year the three fruits weighed 3-4 lbs each.

I did tie these fruits for support but didn't think of covering it completely from rats and squirrels so I lost a few fruits.

Yes, Thong Dee is ready now, it will hang longer (2-4wks) but the taste really doesn't get any better.
From my list of pomelo/pummelo/grapefruit hybrids I grow, here's the list and my personal taste preference:

1. Special Unk -Valentine like hybrid (Tony1 in photo above with rope)
2. Valentine pummelo hybrid
3. Cocktail/Mandalo pummelo hybrid
4. Melogold grapefruit hybrid
5. Thong Dee
6. Chinese pomelo seedling (Roy)
7. Reinking pummelo
8. Chironja grapefruit
9. Oroblanco grapefruit hybrid
10. Mato Buntan pummelo
11.Chandler pummelo
-------------------------------------------
12. Banpeiyu pummelo (no fruit yet)
13. Kao Phuang pummelo (no fruit yet)
14. Flame grapefruit (no fruit yet)
15. Hawaii pummelo (no fruit yet)

Kaz, is the Valentine pummelo easy to separate to sections.  How is the fruit taste, dry or firm and juicy?

John B, yes I feel for you. My wife would never let me buy as much budwood now at these prices. Luck for me I made majority of my orders back in 2004.

Lovetoplant, that's a good question about the Valentine pummelo. I have a large tree which gives lots of fruits, mostly large fruits but this year the fruits were only 1-1/2 lbs each or smaller. I just ate one fruit tonight and it wasn't as good as others on the tree. I will be picking a few more this week so I will post a few photos for you and give you feedback. I can tell you that it does not separate that easy into sections, kinda like an orange. It has many seeds, very juicy, most of the time it is very sweet with no acid taste, firmness similar to Washington navel orange. At least everyone I give the fruits away to say it was excellent. The Cocktail grapefruit is similar in the way it separates but I like the taste of Valentine better. I do have a special unk Valentine like hybrid I call "Tony1" from the guy who gave me a cutting years ago. The Tony1 is the large fruits in the photo with the rope tied to it, so it won't break off the fruit stem/branch. These fruits are better than Valentine and larger size.

Lovetoplant, I have an in ground Valentine tree.  It produces a lot of fruit, varying between large (grapefruit size) and medium.  The fruit is seedless, very juicy and sweet, but absolutely no acid content to it at all.  What normally makes citrus so tasty is the balance between sweet and sour. Valentine is just sweet.  The fruit would be much better if it also produced some acid content.  On a 1 to 10 scale I would give it a 4.

Millet, ok, I agree with your taste rating, this year my fruits are only average with no acid taste as you mentioned. I couldn't eat one fruit since it was just sweet.

Kaz, Millet: thank you for the super detailed comments.  Myself, I just love citrus with no acidic taste. That is why I really fell I love with Florida honey murcott when I bought it from the supermarket 10plus years ago. I had been looking for the tree, but could not find it. I bought W. Murcott and California honey trees, but they were not "it" so I ended up plants a few from seeds from store bought.

I have not tried Valentine before, but saw Kaz posts its flavors higher up on his list compared to Tong Dee.
I love Tong Dee taste back home in Thailand, because it is dry and sectioned easy. I figured if Valentine sections easy, I will plant one.

Cannot trade/sell/ship any citrus wood from CA, quarantine zone. But you can purchase budwood for grafting from the UCR CCPP Budwood program.

Thank you gumbo2go.

I'm adding two more excellent tasting fruits, the Sumo (my jumbo size fruit, weighs 1.4 lbs) and the Yosemite Gold (from Johnny Eat Fruit). This will complete my multi-grafted tree.

I will post some great looking photos tomorrow of the fruits.

SC400, in your Valentine pummelo pictures I noticed all the seeds that your fruit has.  I have a large in ground Valentine pummelo tree, and over the years I have never every found a seed in my fruit, not even one.

Millet,

That is nice to not have any seeds in the Valentine. My fruits always had some seeds to many seeds in each fruit. Maybe I just have to many bees around since all my citrus trees, loquat trees, avocado trees, and mulberry trees flower about the same time and I have a very dense spacing between all my fruit trees.

Pau, CA is strict on citrus movement so its best to just buy the scionwood to graft citrus to your tree. Here's the UC Riverside budwood program you can order different varieties of citrus (over 100 varieties).

You can register online here, then place your order, you should get it within one week after cut date shown. Prices have gone up.

1) Here's their website below
https://ccpp.ucr.edu/onlineOrdersV2/

2) You must first fill out the registration form
https://ccpp.ucr.edu/onlineOrdersV2/index.php/Register

3) Here's a peak at the list of citrus varieties they have now
