Title: Pomelo hybrid from Medici citrus collection

Finally ripe fruit of C. grandis x C. paradisi called “Piriforme”. Plant I bought from Tintori nursery years ago.
This pomelo hybrid belongs to the Medici citrus collection that was started by Cosimo I between 1554 and 1568 and reached its height under Cosimo III.
The fruit has thick rind that turns yellow when fully ripe. The thick pith is not edible and the flesh tastes like mix of pomelo and grapefruit, its a bit sour, but edible. Mostly for ornamental purpose.

Your fruit has a nice looking shape, how is the leaves on the tree? Can you post a few photos of the leaves.

I have a bud sport lemon which is unusual, its a cedri giagante lemon but with albino branches and fruit, also the first fruit was seedless..

Ok, thanks for posting the leaf photo. My lemon leaf doesn't have the winged petioles and looks more like a normal lemon leaf. Here's some photos of my variegated & albino cedro lemon. My fruit was much more skinny shaped and small fruit....
