Alico Citrus in FLA

Not sure this is of interest to anyone, but it was on the news last night:

If they are going to develop some of the land for residences, I would love to see them integrate the living space into the agricultural land. Imagine if your neighborhood had a massive food forest around and within it instead of the usual ornamental landscaping at the entryway, borders and common areas.

The citrus groves could be replanted with many other productive species.

Alico, has been a large (VERY LARGE) citrus grower, for a long time.  They have for the last 7 or 8 years spent a lot of money, time and talent trying every angle possible to grow their tree in the face of HLB.  They were, and are a courageous company.  This is a great tragedy to the citrus heritage to the Sunshine state. I  certainly wish them every success in the future.
