Citrus General Discussion / Re: Weird wilting of lemon tree leaves
« on: May 18, 2022, 03:33:01 PM »
Thanks for the answers! I moved the tree to a shaded part of the balcony and it seems to be doing so much better, after just a couple of days it started to grow a lot of new leaves and no leaves have gone dry since then.

Citrus General Discussion / Weird wilting of lemon tree leaves
« on: May 12, 2022, 09:58:05 AM »
Hello everyone!
I have an indoor lemon tree that I planted from a seed ~3 years ago. Due to the climate that I live in, I keep it indoors for the colder months (October-April) and outdoors when it gets warmer and sunnier.
This year I put it on the balcony about two weeks ago. Today I have realized, that the side of the tree that's facing the sun is wilting. But it only happens to the leaves that are directly exposed to the sunlight. They look like they're covered by some silver gloss, and underneath it they are dry and turning yellow.
Here is a photo of two leaves: the one on the left was covered by other leaves and it's not wilting. The one on the right was partially covered and you can see the weird silver gloss:

And here's a photo of the upper part of the tree that is exposed to direct sunlight:

Does anyone know what's going on here? Last year when I put the tree on the balcony it was doing great.
Any advice on what I should do now?

Citrus General Discussion / How is my 2 years old lemon tree doing?
« on: June 24, 2021, 08:42:42 AM »
Hello everyone!
Two years ago I planted a lemon tree from seed - just for fun, I have no experience with trees.
I live in Poland so the weather is too cold for lemons, and so I kept my tree indoors during winter, spring and autumn. During summer I keep it on the balcony and it get's a lot of sunlight - from ~11AM to sunset.
The tree is about 1,5m (5ft) tall and seems to be doing good. I've only fertilized it once with a fertilizer that my Dad gave me. What do you think about it? Is there anything I should do with it, or just let it grow as it pleases?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Is this normal for a lemon tree?
« on: July 04, 2020, 01:09:32 PM »

I planted a lemon seed ~10 months ago. I live in Poland, so I keep it indoors during winter, spring and autumn.
Now it's summer and it's 25-30* C (80-85* F) outside, so I put my tree on the balcony. Unfortunately, I noticed, that after ~30 minutes of being in direct sunlight leaves start to wilt and become very soft.

Is this normal? Should I put my tree outside anyways, or should I leave it indoors?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Mango tree stopped growing
« on: April 05, 2020, 09:29:50 AM »

Hello everyone!

I'm trying to grow a mango tree from a seed. I planted this mango 8-9 months ago and it has been growing slowly but steadily up until 1-2 months ago. Since then, it has tried to grow new leaves, but all of them die immediately. Now it has a lot of them on its tip and I don't know whether I should remove them or not?

Does anyone know what may be causing this?

I live in Poland, it's too cold to keep my mango outside during winter, spring and autumn so I keep it indoor next to a south-west window.
