Need help picking finger limes

(1/2) > >>

Mirage:
Hi all,

I'm currently trying to decide between finger lime varieties for my small container citrus collection. The current favorites are Pink Ice, Crimson Tide, and Red Champagne. However, since I have no experience with finger limes I would also be open to other available (I'm based in Berlin, Germany) varieties.

I'm especially interested in:

Flavor differences: I’ve read that Pink Ice has a grapefruit-like bitterness, Crimson Tide is sweeter and milder, and Red Champagne has berry-like notes — can anyone confirm this from personal experience?

Growth habits: I know finger limes can be slow growers, but how do these three compare in terms of vigor and size over time in pots?

Light requirements: Are any of these varieties more or less tolerant of partial shade or indoor light setups?

I'd like to know how it is that these named varieties of Australian Finger Limes are being distributed in EU countries when, I believe, importation of citrus plants is completely prohibited.
Either they are from illegal imports, or they are grown from seed and therefore not actually the named varieties.

@sc4001992

That is surprising since from what I've read it is supposed to be among the slowest growers, but since the sole retailer which carries them only sells very small plants that would be a positive.

Well, this is what I heard from some people who grow it. Yes, I know some people that grew out seeds so that may be the difference so you're right, not the same thing. I think the seeds were purchased on ebay a while back. Please ignore my previous comments, they were inaccurate as you said.
