I got this tree on accident, was supposed to be a tahoe gold.  Wait 3 years to find out its wrong. 

The fruit are small and have lots of seeds and 0 acid.  Im not a fan of it but not sure what to do with the tree.

The place I bought it is online four winds growers.  Thry are going to send a new tree which is very nice.  I appreciate they are doing that.

Is there any graft compatibility issues with regular large limes grafted on myer lemon tree?  The neighbors want some lime grafts on their lemon tree.

The houses that dont have city water are required to have a 10,000 gal tank and a 4in hydrant for fighting fire with.  You could definitely put sprinklers on the roof and eves.  Ive got like 6 or more fire hose hookups all connected to my tank and sprinklers around the house and on all my well equipmwnt and solar panels.  If theres a fire Ill be staying right here and protecting all my crap.

Hey man, you leave poor Smokey alone. Bad enough we developed right over his habitat.  Seriously though, CA does do some controlled burns but I would imagine that it’s a bit more difficult when the developed landscape looks far more different than when the indigenous peoples ruled the land.
Fire is the one catastrophe that would move me out of CA.  If my property burns down, it’s game over for me.  Im just not willing to rebuild everything that I have built and planted so far.

You keeping a good fire break and hardening your structures?  Its doubtful you will burn down if you did some work on not letting it happen.  100ft break and stucco roof?   I know which of my neighbors are going to loose their house when it blows through.  Some of them dont even bother at all with fire mitigation.

So it's not the source of the drought just aggravates the situation along with the wildfires? While taking a break I was looking for other places on the globe with similar wind event. What I found that was interesting is in other parts of the world these wind event phenomenons for a better word. Have a psychological effect. In Europe certain crimes committed during these wind events gets a lesser sentence. Are the Gophers oblivious to this LOL

The drought i think is over for now.  Once the snow melts the rservoirs will be full.  This drought cycle and then flood cycle has been going on forever.  I remember as a kid that they would have signs up saying dont flush the toilet in resturants to save water and then the next year it would be the river is about to spill over and flood the town.  The only thing that changed is how hyped up the news coverage of everything has become.  Too much sensationalism and scare mongering.

It didnt seem to oxidize quickly but we ate it pretty quick. The peel is medium thin but I just scooped it and didnt try to peel.  I doubt it peels easily but it also doesnt have any grit.  Its got the same skin as fuerte.

I am going to call it "Fornido" because the tree structure extra stout.

This tree is a volunteer off a nearby fuerte tree.  Dropped fruit, sprouted, grew and a few years later made a few avocados.  It actually tastes pretty nice and its early.   Seed is kind of big, otherwise it seems decent. The tree is growing like a beast and if it fruits every year then it may be a keeper.  If anyone wants to grow it I will give you scions for free.

Is the tone of my words coming off as contentious?  Definitely not my intent. 

I do care a lot though about maximizing the benefits of any rainfall we get.  Yes, we've only received about 8 inches or so this month in Fallbrook, but it is amazing to me how full the Santa Margarita River is and how much runoff is flowing through our creeks from just a few inches of rain.  I see it as potential.  Plus we've been able to turn off our irrigation for the last month.

Hello, sorry I did not take photos of the fruits but they are large and sweet.  Which I realize is not that helpful.  These are trees grown from seeds from Raul in Mexico from a giant type of cherimoya.  My trees produced a few fruits each for the first time this year.

Theres some online nurseries that sell whip trees bare root.   Burnridge and one green worls, theres others also.  Try searching for it and you will find them on google.

6+ MD2, 1 white sugarloaf, 1 Josephine, 1 tropic gold, 1 mini crown(big fruit small top, smooth), 2 Maui pine(smooth cayane cross).

These are all smooth leaf and big fruit types and the MD2 are my own selected line that make really big fruits.  Extra sweet low acid, we just harvested 5 fruit and they were very sweet.

White latex paint.  The paint is just for preventing sun damage

They do sell tree wax and tree seal products but it doesnt seem to be necessary.  The tree will naturally heal over the wound and grow back without any kind of sealer on the top.

Indont know, I have never rooted them.  I think it may be more straight forward to have the person in TX plant out rootstocks ordered from the internet then I send them scions to graft.  Pretty much a caveman or cavewoman can get 100 takes on these things.
