I bought this early last year as a 3" cattley lemon guava seedling. The fruits do turn yellow and are pretty sweet, but I do not taste lemon. Also, all lemon guavas I see online are trees, but this grows more like a bush.  Is this a lemon guava? Thanks, Alex

Hi All,

I had a geffner that had a lot of dieback when I transplanted it. It looks like it died back to "almost" the rootstock, and then grew like mad. I am wondering if I got lucky and it is growing after the graft, or from the root stock. Please let me know what you think. Worse comes to worse, I will be buying geffner scions, but am trying to avoid that. Thanks!

Is this scale on my abiu? I have a number of fruit trees. I've had mealy bugs, but never scale. Just want to confirm so I can kill them and learn from experiencefor the future. Thanks.

The plant is only 1' tall and the grafted part about 8" long. It looks like buds, but I can't believe that it would flower at that size. If they are buds, I will clip them. Thanks

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Fertilizing starfruit (carambola) in the fall???

Do you think that it is too late in the year to fertilize my starfruit? The leaves are a little pale and the growth stopped. I have compost that I can use if it is not too late. I used Epsom salt 2 weeks ago, which made no difference.  Thanks if any.

I would like to get these growing sooner than later. Should I plant now in ground, or just wait until spring.  I want to make sure that they are established enough to make it through the winter.  Just needed a second opinion(I am leaning towards waiting til spring). Thanks
