Citrus General Discussion / I need help determining a mandarin variety

A friend in Lafayette has the best Satsuma mandarins I have ever had. The trees are quite large. He bought them from Home Depot at least a couple of decades ago. They are very sweet and the fruit is ready in January. The skin completely separates from the fruit when ripe. It is definitely able to survive freezes.

Anyone have any idea what variety this could be? Or another worth trying? There are so many varieties at my local nurseries I don't even know where to begin to try to get the same one.

I only plan to chew it, so I want a couple of the best varieties. I picked up Hilo Buddha and Vietnamese Black so far. I also bought a stick of the one pictured and wonder if it's the same as the one I bought as Vietnamese Black. It sure looks the same. I was also eyeballing blue ribbon, but not sure if it's the same as purple ribbon and someone just got cookie names confused.

Anyone have experience with several types and can give input?

Temps are going to be dropping this weekend in the Houston area. So I have some plants that I'm not sure can take 40F. It's above freezing, but...

First I have sugar apple and native persimmon sprouting.
I also have some young Nance that are a few months old. I have jaboticaba both big and small. There's also an ice cream bean. Oh and syzgium that are still young. A few Eugenia too.

What do you guys think?

It's an Asian delicacy (like $14 for just the one mango). It's large although I'm told there is a smaller version with a different season. You peel it, then eat the flesh while it's crunchy and green. It was very good and I would love to grow it. Anyone know which variety it is? I saved the lima bean looking seed to try growing, but since it's green I'm not sure if it's too immature to grow.

I'm staying at an airbnb in St. Pete, Florida and these bushes are planted around the AC. I've tried the berries and they are sweet. I'd like to know what they are because I might want to bring seeds home. The last pic is the smere it left on my shirt when I spit a seed on my shirt.

I wanted to try a few types of sweet potatoes to decide which one I want to grow. I thought this was purple sweet potato, but it has a dry, starchy, and nutty taste. It's also not sweet at all. What am I eating?

I can't eat the usual Cavendish due to allergies, but I can eat other bananas.

First I'm looking for a banana I tried years ago that to me tasted like sweet pumpkin. Do any of you have thoughts on which one it was?

Next I would like to know what variety the red ones in stores are.

Finally this is the lineup I have planned so far. What do you guys think and can it be improved?

I'm looking for some options. I'm planning to try Candy, Anne yellow, and Bababerry. I'm also looking at salmon berry, olallieberry, thimbleberry, mysore, and boysenberry. I came across the below thread, but am not sure if I can get any of those wonderful sounding typical Australian varieties here.

What do you guys think are my best options for Houston?

[ ] Syzygium malaccense white (white malay apple)
[ ] Syzygium oleosum (blue Lilly pilly)

[] Syzygium curranii polycepheloid
[] Syzygium megacarpa

I would also like more Inga (I already have edulis).

I am also looking for garlic vine, elephant garlic, and Egyptian walking onions (I know onions and garlic aren't quite tropical fruit, I can't seem to find them)


Oh also Indian chiku 

I am interested in plants or seeds.
