I know it’s a concern when papayas lean, especially young. I think this is wind or sun related.

Should I add a stake and haul it over?

This is a male so it won’t hold fruit if I’m not mistaken?

Many cultivars of dragonfruit, jabos, eugenias, etc in front of greenhouse (it's mostly empty for summer)

I am looking at flying out to Miami in June or July for mango season and to visit some farms or homes out that way. Are there any must hits? Anyone out there that may want to show me their collection? The fruit community has been amazing and hopefully there are some people around that have suggestions.

Of course, really want to check out Zill's and hopefully they will have mangoes for sale at that time but that's about the limit of my knowledge of that area.

This calycina barely made fruit last year. This year feels different.

This is a tasty low chill peach that does well in 10a. It has a particular pointy tip to it, and produces prolifically and large fruit. One of these trees broke in half due to too much fruit.

$5 each, will cut them down to about 6-8” long. $6 each if you want me to buddy tape them pre shipment.

I saw a few successful Che to male mulberry bark grafts online but wanted to see if others have had success on TFF doing this. I tried che for the first time last year and it was very agreeable and aesthetic so I want to give it a try grafting to ever bearing / dwarf mulberry which seems to be a universal receiver of mulberry grafts.

Also wanted to try rooting some cuttings which I hear is challenging but not impossible.

Anyone have experience?

I have a happy and producing sabara jaboticaba in a 75 gallon fabric pot that will do better with an up pot and getting rid of the fabric pot. The soil dries out super fast, the edges are always dry, and it leaches a lot of water into the soil below it. It probably has oak roots coming into the bottom too... Anyways, NEVER use a fabric pot is my lesson to all of you.

There are a few options I'm considering for an up-pot:

65 gallon blow molded pot (these are $150 delivered) and dimensionally should barely work, the opening is the same width as my current pot, I may need to prune off / narrow the bottom roots to fit in fully but basically it's the exact same size. Not ideal because the tree won't really get to grow any more root mass, but it will work.



100 or even 300 gallon stock tank and drill a bunch of holes in it. The 100 gal stock tank is the same width as my pot up top but appear to be really narrow in the bottom and I'll probably need to cut off a bunch of roots to fit it into the taper, but then the plant will have some room (10 inches on either side) of fresh soil to get established in. If I get the 300 gallon tank, it will be a ton of $ for soil, the pot, and all that, but the tree will then have years of soil to grow into and will be happy probably for as long as I own it. The 100 gallon is $150, the 300 gallon is $300.

Putting it in the ground is not available to me due to being a renter, extremely high alkaline soil, and gopher pressure.

Any suggestions?

I think mango season is just kinda firing up in FL? - Any chance someone in FL could ship some selected varieties to Oregon? It would be much appreciated.

Things are cautiously opening up here in zone 9b. This year they’re about a month behind what happened last year, but I prefer that. Last year I had tons of blooms and young growth that got burnt by a late frost.

I’m going to heavily prune this Persian mulberry and will have some scions if anyone is interested. They range from smaller than a pencil to around 1/4” or so, maybe some thicker ones. Makes a thick black mulberry that has that electric blue raspberry tone. Very tasty.

I had grand plans for all these Florida mango seedlings but I think it’s just too dang cold on the mountain pass I live on to risk them. Hopefully others in CA in Zone 10 and above want them! They’re all in 5 gallon pots and I didn’t disturb the tap roots.
