Beautiful. I have some ready to transplant. How much light does it get?  Could you take a pic farther away so I could get an idea of how much shade it gets?  Thank you.

Plant was sold to me as criollo, but as soon as it fruited it was obvious it was trinitario. Process it only for seeds for propagation.

It get 1/2 day sun. But here you can have cacao plants in full sun, as we get a lot of cloud cover. In places with more sunny days they would need some shading.

Those are awesome!
I am SO jealous!  My cacao are in my greenhouse, and having no agreeable pollinators, I am out there in the mornings with tweezers and a jewelers loupe trying to cross-pollinate mine, but I have not gotten any to set fruit yet.  Apparently I am not a very good insect...

So nice. dream of the day my cacaos look even half that good. One pod would have me doing flips. They are starting to come back, but have only seen one flower in 1.5 years. I salute you

Cacao will fruit outdoors in Florida, even in pots...

Wow.  That is amazing in the container.  Can you tell me what variety that is and where can someone purchase a tree in SFL?

It's a Criollo but I don't know the variety. The best thing about it is that it easily fruits. Pods are full sized also.

FruiFreak: check out Richard Lyons Nursery in the Redlands.  He most likely has 1 and 3 gallon cacaos.  I'm guessing Excalibur has some, too.

Florida green man, how do you know that cacao is 'criollo'?

Well done Oscar at least someone has good luck with Theobroma.  I have 3 x 3 metre high Theobroma bicolor, 2 x 4 metre high grandiflorum and 3 x gilleri and they all flower but never have set fruit yet.

If I remember right, Criollo has red coloured pods.

There are red colored pods among trinitario and forestero as well.  True criollo is very difficult to find.
