My wife picked couple of them up today.  They are not fully riped, should be ready in couple days.

That is a beauty! What variety is that? I hope to pollinate and hold a couple fruit on my 5 year old tree next year.

I don't know what variety is it.  I grow it from the fruit that I purchased in the farmer market 10 years ago.  I didn't hand pollinate the flowers, but I spray water to whole tree during the flowering season every day.

Very nice. I have an unknown seedling as well but it is only a few years old. Why spray daily while flowering?

That’s a great sized and shaped fruit for not hand pollinating. If it’s good tasting variety, you should name it and spread some scions around. I had a good seedling selection about 20-25 years ago but it died.please keep us updated on the taste and seed count.

The tree is tall and difficult for hand pollinating.  Someone told me spray water during flowering time and the misty can pollinate the flowers.  I don't know the theory behind it, but it works.

Hi Simon,

I thought cherimoya is very common and I grow seedlings for grafting difference varieties.  If you want some scions, I can send some to you during spring season.

Thanks,
Al

Thanks for the offer Al, I’ll wait for your taste report. Do you happen to have a refractometer to take a Brix reading?
