#2 is cherimoya because of the large rounded and pointed leaves.

I’d say 2 is not cherimoya. They seem to have more ridges. I don’t have much experience with Ilama but if that’s what it is I’ll buy a scion haha

You may be right, I could be wrong. There may be another species of annona with leaves like that. but Ilama doesn’t have any pubescent growth on its stems as shown in the second pic of number 2. I see brown pubescent brown growth on the stems closest to the newest growth, a characteristic of cherimoya and is sometimes seen on its flowers during its development. Also if the newest most developed leaf is fuzzy, then it most definitely isn’t ilama. Ilama has smooth, without fuzz and somewhat shiny new growth. Also ilama has more narrow leaves towards the one end bing wider and with most of its leaves having a round tip. The pictures show that all of the leaves are pointed at the tips.

Can't this 1 fruit tree be an Rollinia or cherimoya?& 2 fruit tree be an atemoya??
Because Ilama fruit is extremely rare in Sri Lanka, there are Rollinias, cherimoyas, atemoyas, sugar apples, soursops&Wild sweetsops

Maybe I was wrong. Some cherimoya leaves do have those vein ridges. Here’s a photo of a tree I grafted. Atemoya has more narrow leaves than cherimoya. They seem to be slightly fuzzy and have a smell very similar to the fruit if you have had it

My vote for the second plant is also cherimoya. Looks Identical to the leaves of my cherimoya's, thought a little more round, but there is a variation in the leaf shapes....

2 is probably not illama if they are extremely rare over there, I would say cherimoya is accurate.

My illama does have both pointed and rounded leaves on the same plant. Will upload pic later.

does illama always have this kind of horizontal growth?? I have never messed with the fruit nor the plant, but seems compared to my cherimoya's the growth is far more horizontal ,maybe this is also a clue for differing the two....??

I don't have experience with cherimola to confirm. The only annona I have growing straight up is a coriacea. The rest of them share a similar branching pattern shown in the ilama.

Identifying garcinias and annonas by foliage and growth habit is not easy. Within each species there is much variation due to environmental and natural genetic variation. They are nothing like coriacea or crassiflora for that matter. Your broadleaf one could be anything but isnt a rollinia and cherimoya is possible. The other looks like ilama and if it has green shoots without gardker pigment that would indicate a green.

People seem to lose id tags fairly frequently, lose touch with the source and forget what seeds species they have had quite frequently.

I believe that is why the scientific name for Illama is Anona diversifolia.
