Met someone from Tampa area who grew up In Virgin Islands and is looking
for a guavaberry plant.
Anyone know of a Florida seller?

Is it a chilian guava? How big is the berry?

I don't know. She said that her mother would make jams/jelly with them in Virgin Islands.

Myrciaria flouribunda is the scientific name. Also known as rumberry. They're related to jabos. Small red to dark berries that have a sort of woody flavour. I really enjoy them but I wish they were bigger.
The berries are used to make a guavaberry liquor that is popular in sint marteen. They sell the liquor at total wine too. beautiful landscape tree as well. Not too sure where to find a tree however.

I live in the Virgin Islands and yes they are quite popular here. There are ones with red, purple, or yellow berries. I have one of each planted out and so far I have found their growth rate to be pretty fast, much more so than Jabos.
Coming up in February is our annual agricultural fair, this is the time to procure them. I am happy to take orders from people and send up via USPS Priority Mail.
Shoot me a PM if interested.
