Is there a reputable website to purchase these from yet? I've seen a couple but they didn't have any reviews listed.
I sell Yangmei plants, www.wildlandsplants.com

Honestly, fruit kinda sucks, IMO, and yes you would need to add a lot of sugar to eat it because itís not good by itself, why grow fruit that needs sugar? I guess some people enjoy grapefruit with a little sugar... I got a nice plant from Nate at Wildlands that fruited but no one liked it so it got donated to the compost bin.
I'm personally not a big fan of the fruit but know some who are. IMO I love growing things that dont meet my palette because they have different flavor profiles and notes and have potential for value added products! But I also get so many people that come knock on my door and ask me how I am growing papaya here

6th or 7th..
could be worth reporting to local usda office. Dont want a new borer insect coming in and destroying tons of fruit crops!

Whoa, interesting eloicious, where did you find that? Certainly is Myrica due to the fact it doesn't have the orange bark indicative of Arbutus spp.

Awesome that y'all are getting fruit!  I honestly haven't tried it with sugar but sounds like I'm gonna have to. I could see it being good that way.

Beware! Dishonest seller.

Slawek is the definition of a troll.  He is someone you are better off not crossing paths with. Bush2Beach is a great seller with many people who have had great experiences with.

Yeah, I've had horrible experiences with my USDA messing up and keeping my seeds for weeks and then realizing they were wrong and finally turned my seeds over to me.  Got fed up with the system and just basically interested in supporting the sellers who have really good systems worked out already.

Awesome to see you've planted yours out. I gotta do that!  They really are a delicious and good sized fruit. Can't wait to have a good sized shrubby understory one going one of these days.

Confusing.
I would say frustrating
I would say, to be expected! Ain't nobody out here a botanist and keying these fruits to really get into the details of identification.

Selling my first round of Yangmei seedlings for the year. Think I've gotten the transplanting down as I have not had any seedling mortality.  Woo, super stoked. Should have more in about a month.

I had a dream last night that my Yangmei plants were loaded with fruit this year. I must have been thinking about Simon's plants!

Agree with Nate here that Jonah's tree is the best guabiju, but also of note, the leaves on his tree are wavy and that's unusual. I top worked my seedling guabiju with his scions and they took great with cleft grafts, 100% take rate.

Rad, I'm gonna graft and plant a bunch of trees this year!

Jonahs guabiju is the best I've had

Just confirmed with them that their Babaco is indeed Vasconcellea pubescens, Mountain Papaya.  Asked them to change their listing, we'll see if that happens.

23
I sold out of mine about a couple of weeks ago. I believe Shawn Mattison on facebook is selling some right now

24
Syzygium sandwicense (tried it)
Eugenia koolauensis

Some other minor fruits that aren't particularly notable

25
Awesome, sounds interesting! Would you be interested in trading any scion?
