Quandongs are rainforest Elaeocarpus in some places rather than the desert fruit, tamerinds and peanut trees (Sturculea) are in parks and wild in some northerly areas and Burdekin plums are widespread in the north east. These are not fruit to lay awake at night about and think of luscious flavours and juiciness.

None of those are in season so far as I can tell.I will keep an eye out and suspect later in the year I may be able to get some seeds.

@ Mike T

Do you know a source for Buchanania obovata or Marsedmia australis seeds ?

@ posci35

Santalum acuminatum seeds need rather low temperatures for germinating (about 15-17 Celcius)
I have propagated a (still small) plant.
