Anatto trees
« on: August 07, 2021, 12:38:43 PM »
Have many young anatto trees for sale or trade. 4" potted and off to a great start. $5 each plus shipping or agreed trade.

Thanks!  DG

What a great price for an annatto plant!  They grow fast and mine is a real water pump!

I have mine in a 7 gallon pot sitting in a larger saucer that's at least 2-in. wider and 2-in deep and when the pot is well watered and the saucer filled to the rim, my plant, now about six feet tall, will drink up all the water in the saucer in about four hours on a sunny day.

Cheers!

Try to be fair about pricing. A friend on here sent me loads of seeds and I virtually sprouted them all and now have dozens of small trees. Really nice looking at the moment.  Only need a few for myself. Need homes for many, many of them.

Have bunches of these guys getting pretty tall. They definitely need homes.

Do you need multiples for pollination/ are they monoecious?

I’d like to try one out.  Kids would have fun tattooing themselves with these.

I’ve had one fruit alone, but I’ve also planted one alone and it still never flowered after 6 years. So it depends on the plant

Had a tree when I was down in Sarasota but never flowered by the time I left. Only 2 or so years old though. These are all still young seed grown plants so not sure yet. Another member sent me bunches of seeds at one point and I ended up with dozens of sprouts. Plan to keep a few but probably have like 60 of them. Cant keep that many. Nice little trees right now though around a foot tall. Hit me up in pm if you definitely want to give it a go.

Derek's annatto plants arrived today in excellent condition.  They're both about a foot tall, really healthy and easily ready to go into 2- or 3-gallon pots!  Survived USPS's shipping & handling even though box arrived warm to the touch

Very happy with these new annatto, achiote (Bixa orellana) plants.

Thanks Derek!

Hi Derek! I'll take some. We had discussed smooth sumac suckers a while back. I still want some starts. When do you think they will be ready? D

The two anatto plants that I ordered arrived today in good condition and well packed.

They are a nice size for the price, thanx, Derek!

Many trees still available. Minimum order of two trees since they are cheap. Priced to sell. Most are close to 2ft tall now.
