I thought I read somewhere that something in guavas their fruit or their flowers may inhibit the vectors that carry citrus greening. Don't quote me on that though. Thanks for the link! Simon

Even if genetically modified trees are found to be resistant, and they also pass safety test to pronounce fruits from them safe to eat, it would still mean replacing all exisiting orchards with these resistant GM trees. So still many years would be without fruit production and costs would be enormous to growers.
How are large citrus growing countries that already have citrus greening, like Brazil, still managing to produce and export citrus?
