Anyone in san diego area want to do one of these again? Ive been extremely busy with house projects and homeschooled 1 kid through 1st grade this year. Things are finally almost settling down and I have time to relax a bit if you guys want to have a get together we can make that happen. Maybe early August? Let me know if these enough interest.

I’m in.

I’m game. Previous events have been a great opportunity to try new stuff and meet local growers. Good times!
-
Count me in.
-
I may be coming down to SD for other reasons in the near future, but maybe will line up. I'm thinking of arranging one of these for Central Coast at some point too.
-
LOL, even after another 11 years, you'll still be busy! :) As a parent I now kind of know what my parents had to deal with, kids never grow up and house projects are forever!
One of these days, too bad I didn't find this forum before COVID when I was travelling down to San Diego monthly for work!

August sounds good to me.. hopefully Simon can bring some of that delicious calamansi sugar cane juice..
-
Yes I'm in.
-
I’ll definitely try to make it, work permitting. I work 6 days a week now, sometimes 7 days so I probably won’t be able to bring the juice because i usually prep everything the day before but I have no free time anymore. I should have some figs, Dragonfruit and maybe some other random stuff. I made the best tasting Jaboticaba jam using Chris’s (Truly Tropical) recipe and it’s amazing. I would like to see what others think about it!

You need a vacation dude. Maybe a little deep sea fishing down in panama.
You want Saturday or Sunday? I have ather party to atte d on August 6th. So we can do 8/7 (sunday) or saturday before or after.
-
Early August looks good.
Ken
-
I would love to join, but I will be in the Azores.
Hopefully I can make the next one
-
Saturday works best for me so July 30 or August 13. Leos remembrance is on August 6 so I also wouldn’t have been able to make it on that day.
Yeah, I need to take a break. Seeing some friends, eating fruit and talking about trees is the best way for me to unwind.

ok July 30 9:30am

You guys still up for this? I dont have much fruit this time. Ive got some reed avocados, maybe a few peaches left and some dragonfruits. Its hard to time it for when the fruit is ready to cut.
-
Well I will assume a few of you are still coming and put something together. Im going to start picking avocados now.
Ill be here on July 30th Saturday morning if you guys wanna come, come on over.
-
I will be there. Doubt I will have anything ripe. Plan to bring some jakfruit by way of the Asian market.
-
Won't be there this year. Thanks for doing this Brad. Hope you all have fun!
-
Unfortunately, the 30th falls on some business travel for me so I won’t be able to make it.
Would love to connect for mango tasting this year. I have several new seedling mangos that are producing including a first time Carrie seedling that is loaded.

Hi All,
I have been growing in SD for about a year and am now very active in the CRFG San Diego board. Would love to meet more San Diego peeps. I don't have much produce right now but can buy some stuff at Specialty Produce to share.

Zands I havent seen a doctor in over 25 years when I broke my kneecap off. Had that kneecap sitting up on my thigh and my knee swelled up like a softball. Spent the night in the hospital and had surgery the next day. I was trying to hold out but at 3am the pain got to me. I rang the bell and nurse came and told me to roll over and she injected my with morphene in my butt and laughed at me. Thats the last time I took a shot. ::)

That is something else! Yikes! No vaxxxxxxx since I was under parental control at 11 years old. You (me) don't take the annual flu shot means you are more immune to Covid--xyz

Hi Brad,
Wish we could make it, but no days off for us until at least the end of summer. Hope you guys have a great time. We just picked some Reeds last week because the squirrels have started to go after them, is it still early for them? Thought I remembered you saying Aug/Sept was best time to harvest.

You guys made the women stay home? ???
-
It was another great fruit tasting yesterday and there was so much leftover fruit. The ladies happened to stay home this time but Brads wife was there to keep us in check.
It’s amazing how fast everything grows at Brads place and his trees are looking beautiful. I was really impressed with the growth his Yangmei put on and it has definitely established and acclimated to the intense heat and sun up in the foothills of Poway.
His Lychee trees appear to double in size every time I visit and his Annonas and Avocados growing like gangbusters as well.

Nice seeing everyone. Was nice to have a smaller group this time. Someone left a bluish gray water bottle here. Let me know if its yours.
-
I missed out on it again, dang. Post some pics Brad
-
Sounds interesting! This would be awesome.
-
Missed this time, looks like was great gathering.
-
Wanted to attend but I was out of the country. Next time!
-
I think that was my thermos! I will have to grab it from you sometime.
-
I will put it in the garage. We can do another get together in winter maybe.
Maybe someone else wants to have it at their place next time. I know some of you guys have big properties.
-
Looks like you had a nice small tasting event Brad, cool how rare fruit circles happen, I see from pic's a dude I know from CRFG Dennis Shamad (sp.?) what a small world. If I'm ever down that way will have contact you to check out your place. 8)
