Experience growing white strawberries
« on: August 05, 2024, 11:34:57 PM »
Hello, I plan to plant some white strawberry plants after collecting some seeds. Can anyone who has grown white strawberries show me how to grow them?

Thank.

I don’t know how to grow them, but last night I saw that Gurneys has white strawberry plants for sale. https://www.gurneys.com/product/strawberry-florida-pearl

Is this white strawberry the same thing  that is called 'Pineberry'?

Pineberry is enterng the market and can be found in season in Tampa in Publix Supermarkets
and also in Plant City area at some of the local strawberry growers' roadside markets.

Just FWIW . . .

The variety that I posted is the new UF variety named Florida Pearl. Heres a video about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyKCoUq7UnQ

From what I understand, it is the same variety that we've been seeing in grocery stores the past two years.

I had to "snail proof" my alpine and yellow strawberry plants here in southern California.

What are you using?  I haven't put much effort into trying to control them and they do a lot of damage.

Just the regular "Sluggo" pellets work fine, they go after my Pawpaw seedlings real bad.
